I see the walls closing in on me. What to do, what to do, what to do? I can fall in the pit or be burnt to a crisp by the walls. I am about to fall now. I have realized my fate. As I fall I'm looking for anything to grab onto. I see a hole in the wall and a grab with all my might. I grab on and crawl up into the hole in the wall. I realize that it is a cave and I start to explore. As I start to come to what I think is the end I see a light. I think I have finally found my way out...
But then I fall....
As I fall i realize that I have just fallen into the sewer. As I try to stay above the water and waste I am feeling the pain of death closing in. I am barely able to keep my head up and just before I go under I feel the side of a wall. I pull myself up and find a ladder to the outside world.
I am free!

Poe Blog
I would choose Poe. I enjoy reading his poems because of the way he writes. It makes you want to keep reading because of the suspense he builds up in his stories. Also, with his "bloody death", he keeps it interesting enough that I enjoy reading it and will finish the story. I also like how he uses words to make the sounds he is trying to get across to the reader. He makes it so that you can visualize and think what it going on and guess on what is going to happen next. This keeps the reader into the story and it is why I would choose team Poe.

Romantic Poem Reflection
Of the poems we studied this week my favorite was The Tide Rises The Tide Falls. I thought it was an interesting reflection of nature and enjoyed reading it. What makes it romantic is it plays on the readers senses with the footprints in the sand, and the connection to nature which is the scene of the footprints laying in the sand being washed away by the rising tide. I liked being able to visualize the tide coming in because it is peaceful and it made it good to read.

Nature Post
Fall time is something different all in itself. With the leaves changing colors and falling it is a beautiful sight. It is something that cannot be matched by anything else. It is a wonder that God has created for all of us to marvel at as we watch as the leaves turn from green to red, orange, and yellow, until they fall of the tree. It is one of my favorite times of the year and Im glad that we have it. It is a unique time of the year as the weather begins to change for the worse it is a last attempt for reasonable weather and the promise for what will come again in the spring.

McCarthy Hearings
Joseph McCarthy was the person who began the McCarthy hearings. These hearings were during the 50's when everyone was afraid of the Communists especially because of thinking they were Russian spies. This started because of the Cold War with Russia and just our fear of them. Because of these hearings people lost their jobs and reputations. They were very harmful to many people and towards the end people wanted McCarthy's head for it. They were fed up with what he was doing. It eventually came to a stop because they ran out of people and names to question.

Act I Blog
In act 1, we see many strange things happening. There is mass hysteria all over the town and people don't seem to know what to do. They accuse each other of witchcraft and the town goes crazy. Of course the mob effect doesn't help things at all. Just because someone said that they saw someone else practicing witchcraft the person was right away being attacked by the mob. We saw in the movie that just because Tituba was being accused Reverend Hale and the mob showed up at her living area and beat her until she confessed, repented, and started naming names that she saw with the devil. Of course if you are hurting someone they will eventually tell you what you want to make it stop. Because of this issue it just made it more hysteria because no one wanted to be accused. We also see Abigail start to come into power. Because of this Mrs Proctor is afraid that she will be accused. She thinks this because of the affair that went on between Mr. Proctor and Abigail. She thinks that Abigail will try and replace her.

King Phillip's War
This is an account of King Phillip's War. Many years had passed since the white men came from overseas and disturbed the indians. They had eventually made peace and had some people who acted as peacemakers. Over time, these peace makers passed away. This then created anger and fighting between the indians and the colonists. The colonists took King Phillip's brother at gunpoint and forced him to come with them to Plymouth. Mysteriously short thereafter he became sick and died. This made the indians angry and so King Phillip took over and started a war against the colonists.

Squanto
Squanto was very important to the Pilgrims and Indians peace. He acted as a guide and a peacemaker. It was good for both groups because they were able to live in harmony for a while. He had learned English so he was able to translate and help with things such as trades, treaties, and negotiations. I believe that if Squanto had not been there things might have ended up very differently.
