Stephen Crane Poetry

Black riders came from the sea. by Stephen Crane
Black riders came from the sea.
There was clang and clang of spear and shield,
And clash and clash of hoof and heel,
Wild shouts and the wave of hair
In the rush upon the wind:
Thus the ride of sin.
This was a poem by Crane that I found online.  I think it shows how Crane felt about war and that he felt it was a bad thing.  In his opinion it shows that he thought it was a sin.  It shows a very naturalistic view of war though because it shows the beauty of war while contrasting the horror.  He does this by talking of the wind and the waves and then also showing the clash of weapons and shields.
